PositionDesc:
Columbia United Providers, a local managed healthcare firm located in Vancouver, WA, is currently recruiting for a Sr. Technical and Data Analyst to join our Information Services team. The Sr. Technical Analyst is responsible for support development, maintenance and enhancements of EDI healthcare transactions for the payer environment. Also supports, develops and implements CUP’s core processing systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Program, support, coordinate, establish, and revise technical and operational procedures for EDI transactions, (specifically the 834, 837, 820, and 997).
· Prepare and maintain technical and operational documentation in conformance with organizational standards and policies.
· Document system configuration; monitor system operations, and coordinate/perform system modifications to a variety of software applications.
· Assist with coordinating the design and development of solutions for incorporating data from/to external sources with the IDX/GE Centricity Business system. This could include writing the specifications for eligibility transfers, procedure, and diagnosis code transfers, encounter reporting, electronic claims submissions, etc.
· Identify areas for improvement throughout CUP and participate in the development, prioritization, coordination and implementation of system feasibility studies, project proposals and work flow definitions.
· Respond to data requests from end users utilizing Access, TSQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, Excel, and/or DBMS either accessing IDX/GE Centricity Business directly or the Data Warehouse.
· Act as technical resource for the IDX/GE Centricity Business system.
· Work with IDX System Support Analyst to maintain the integrity of the IDX system.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of healthcare business operations, specifically claims adjudication life cycle
· Knowledge of 4010A1 and 5010 HIPAA implementation guides relate as they relate to Healthcare transactions
· Should be familiar with Clearinghouse processes and replies (997 and/or 999)
· Should be familiar with the following transactions: 820, 834, 835, 837
· Understanding of data transformation, database design, and program life cycle concepts
· Proficiency with one or more of the following: VB.NET, C#.NET, Cache, MapForce, Stored Procedures
· Database access via SQL for SQL Server 2005
· Strong oral/written communication skills
· Analysis and problem solving skills
· Must have excellent hands on skills with MS Office suite
· Ability and willingness to learn and support new applications
· Project management skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience with Centricity Business Systems’ MCA, DBMS, and AES applications.
· Experience programming preferably in the following languages: VB.NET, C#.NET, Intersystems Cache (formerly MUMPS).
· Experience with data mapping/transformation software highly preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business science related field and 5 years experience in a similar role (may have equivalent combination of education and/or experience).
