Pregnancy Program
Columbia United Providers (CUP) has a program to help you manage your pregnancy
and give you the best chance of having a healthy baby. CUP wants to help mothers-to-be
get important information about pregnancy and to check to see if you have any risk
factors that need attention before you deliver your baby. As soon as you know you
are pregnant call your doctor or nurse to make an appointment.
Then call CUP Member Services so that CUP can:
- Help you better understand your pregnancy insurance benefits;
- Ask important questions that will tell us if you need extra care or services during
your pregnancy;
- Offer you information to help you stop smoking, stop using alcohol or stop using
drugs during pregnancy so that your baby will be as healthy as possible at birth;
- Mail you booklets about what to expect during your pregnancy and about how to prepare
to deliver a healthy baby.
Other pregnancy services include:
- Screening by MaternalLink, a pregnancy management program;
- Case management by CUP’s pregnancy nurse for high risk pregnancies.
Early prenatal care, regular office visits to your doctor or nurse during the pregnancy,
and education about pregnancy all help make a healthy mom and healthy baby.
CUP is here to help you. Please contact CUP to learn more about pregnancy or to
