Background and Description

Healthy Options is Medicaid’s managed care program that provides medical coverage for low-income women, children and familes who meet specific eligibility requirements. The Medicaid program is a federal aid Title XIX program under which medical care is provided to a certain category of eligible clients and is administered by the Medical Assistance Administration (MAA). Clients enrolled in Healthy Options receive services from private managed care health plans in Washington such as Columbia United Providers.

Healthy Options benefits include a wide range of medical services including, but not limited to, preventive care services and services for the diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury.

Procedure

For information about the Healthy Options program or to enroll in the Healthy Options Program, individuals should contact the local Community Service Office (CSO) nearest their home or contact the On-Line Community Services Office at www.onlinecso.dshs.wa.gov. Questions may also be directed to the Medical Assistance Customer Service Help Line at (800) 562-3022.
