Women's Health Screening Program
Columbia United Providers (CUP) has a program to help teach women the importance
of regular health screens including breast and pelvic exams. Breast and pelvic exams,
including pap smears, should begin at age 18 or when a woman becomes sexually active.
Testing for Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease, should be done if a woman
has had more than one partner. Mammograms should be done every other year beginning
at age 40 and every year beginning at age 50.
Information is available about self-breast examination, mammograms and pap smears.
Information is also available about Chlamydia. You may call CUP Member Services
so that CUP can:
- Help you better understand your women’s health insurance benefits;
- Give you information on women’s health screening including pelvic exams, pap smears,
breast examinations, mammograms and Chlamydia tests;
